Wedding Watercolor Stamped CARD

Watercoloring stationary is a huge trend right now.
I wanted to create a wedding card using watercolors to match this lovely wedding invitation (invitation to the left).  I inked my stamps (Turning A New Leaf-PTI) heavily with water and stamped images onto the wet watercolor paper (wet-on-wet technique).
Then played around with my aqua painter.

Adding (ink) paint to a wet layer of paint on the paper produces a soft, diffused look as the colors mix.  Being able to predict the results you're going to get working wet-on-wet takes practice, but as this technique can produce spectacular, lively types of cards, paintings, it's well
worth experimenting with it.

CRAFTERS TIP: when watercoloring your paper can curl!  If you have time leading up to your event – stack all papers under really heavy books/bricks for like a week to flatten them out.
If you don’t have time ... iron them.

Celebration of Life ~ My Mom and Keepsake Project Life Memory Keeping Messages

I know it's been a while since you've heard from me.  For those of you that don't know,
sadly my mom passed away last month.

My mom:  Margarita Garcia, 94.5, an independent woman at the core, Margarita learned at a young age how to take care of herself.  Growing up in San Bernadino, California she faced struggles and being an orphan in the midst of the depression.  Through those difficult years, she persevered and eventually found contentment when starting a family with her husband, John.  Living the charmed life, Margarita enjoyed surrounded by her family, always loving and supported her loved ones.  She was an exceptionally strong, patient and precious individual who will be greatly missed.  She lived in her little White House, the one her and her beloved husband John, my dad, built together for them of 66 years.

Mom & I (Marian)
She know's I am trying to be creative again.

I would like to share with you at my moms memorial reception I had all our guests family and friends write down some of their fond memories of my mom.  Later down the road I'd will document these lovely messages in a memory album traditionally or scan the memory messages for a digital memory book.  A few years back I created a book in honor of my dad and while I was creating it I found it to be quite theraputic and very healing.
I specifically pulled out the Project Life 4x6 blank white cards.
Stampin' Up! Project Life has 4" x 3" Grid Cards #136528 white with gray grid lines.
Blank on back.

How To: Paper, Photo, Flower Plant Pot Decor (no water needed)!

Are you ready for Mothers Day yet?  You can make this in one hour or less!
Add photos of your family members, pets, friends!

Here's a picture of mom on her 94th young Birthday.
This can be for Birthday, Valentines, Mothers Day, Teachers or a Just Because gift.

Here's How:
A piece of Florist green foam block cut to size or Styrofoam and a open pot glued to fit.

Wilton Lollipop Sticks.  I used 6" inch and 8" inch sticks.

With your punches, punch out your face photos with the SU 1" inch Circle Punch (#119868), apply one dimensional and with your paper scraps or DSP punch with the SU Blossoms Punch (#125603).  In the both the current and new catalog.
With my hot glue gun applied a small amount of hot glue to the lollipop stick
and the punched flower.  Real simple.

Happy Birthday to Mom!!!  Mom, Mandy (my daughter) and me!
